The PhD Programme in Mathematics and Applications
The PhD Programme in Mathematics and Applications, run as a consortium between the University of Naples Federico II and the Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica “Francesco Severi” within the CIAFM, was established in 2017 at the Department of Mathematics and Applications “Renato Caccioppoli” of the University of Naples Federico II. The programme is open to graduates holding any Master’s degree and focuses on the following scientific areas:
- Algebra
- Mathematical Analysis
- Numerical Analysis
- Mathematical Physics
- Geometry
- Artificial Intelligence
- Probability and Statistics
- Operations Research
- Mathematics Education and History of Mathematics
Dedicated courses and seminars are taught by professors of the Department and by internationally recognised researchers; in addition, some courses of the Master’s degree in Mathematical Engineering are available. All students are expected to spend a study and research period of at least three months abroad.
